Pastor June Fryman joined the staff of Abiding Christ as a Co-Pastor on June 1, 2019. Born and raised in Southeastern Indiana, she is a life-long Lutheran. She earned her B.A. in Religion from Capital University (Columbus, OH) in 1988, and her M.Div. from Trinity Lutheran Seminary (Columbus, OH) in 1993. While a seminary student, she completed a two year internship in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She has served as a pastor at First Lutheran Church in Shelby, Ohio (Dec. 1993-Feb. 2001) and Faith Lutheran Church in Wilmington, Ohio (March 2001-April 2019).
Pastor June and her husband Jeff were married on June 17, 1989, and Jeff is currently teaching High School Biology at Western Brown High School in Mount Orab, Ohio. Their daughter Sarah is married to Cedric Gegel, and Sarah is a student at United Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. Their daughter Heather is a first year student at Capital University.
Over the course of 25 years of ordained ministry, Pastor June has led numerous youth groups to ELCA youth gatherings, youth mission trips, an adult mission trip to Belize, and an adult mission trip to Tanzania. She is excited about the opportunity to lead members of Abiding Christ in a medical/work mission trip to Tanzania in 2021 to work at the first Pediatric Hospital being built in Tanzania.
Pastor June enjoys playing golf, watching Netflix while walking on the treadmill, and attending wine-tasting events. A day with all three of these activities is a bonus!.
Pastor Craig Fourman, staff lead, was born and raised in Southwest Ohio (West Milton). He attended Milton Union School, graduating in 1972, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio with a BA degree in Political Science and History in 1976 and a minor in music. He taught High School for a year (Springfield South High School) while pursuing a Masters Degree in Political Science a Miami University. He and entered the family furniture business.
In 1980 he married Leann Shawler, and in 1981 answered the call to ministry, attending Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. – receiving a Masters of Divinity with honors in Old Testament in 1985. Upon receipt of his first call to Covenant Lutheran Church in St. Paris, Ohio, he was ordained into the Lutheran Church in America on June 16, 1985. He served there for 6 years and was called as the lead pastor to Abiding Christ Lutheran Church in Fairborn in 1991, where he continues to serve as head of staff.
Craig and his wife Leann reside at 420 Ridgewood Dr in Fairborn. He has four daughters: Leah, who with her husband Josh and children Matthew and Claire live in Centerville and Christa, who with her husband Brian and children Benjamin and Ellison, live in Springboro, Ohio; Mary, who with her wife, Jess, lives in Carrolton, Texas, and Elizabeth who lives in Kansas City, Missouri.
Pastor Craig has served the Southern Ohio Synod in a variety of ways. He is a former president of the Fairborn Senior Citizens Association, Fairborn Rotary Club, a member of the Fairborn Lions Club and vice-chair of the Downtown Fairborn Committee. Heis also the convener of the Lutheran Saints in Ministry and remains active in ecumenical and community affairs in Fairborn.
