Heather McGee

Director of Faith Formation

Heather joined Abiding Christ’s staff in July 2015, bringing with her myriad professional, volunteer, and creative experiences. Heather grew up in Titusville, PA, the heart of northwestern Pennsylvania’s historic oil region.

She first moved to Ohio to attend Mount Union College (now the University of Mount Union) in Alliance. An active member of Mount Union’s community, Heather received her Bachelor of Arts degree as well as her Ohio teaching license, certifying her to teach English and Comprehensive Communications (Speech, Journalism, Theater, and Reading). Her first public school teaching experience was at Piqua High School, followed by Southwest High School and Christa McAuliffe Middle School in San Antonio, TX. After returning to Ohio, Heather taught at Bethlehem Lutheran School in Fairborn. She currently works with Beavercreek City Schools.

In addition to classroom teaching, Heather has had diverse job experiences: newspaper reporter, domestic violence shelter manager, college administrator, church youth music director, motivational speaker, color guard instructor/clinician/adjudicator, Director of Operations at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, band/choir/musical director, art teacher, storyteller, seamstress. She has been blessed to have had jobs which reflect her interests, which also include creative sewing/costume design, script writing, and playing French horn/clarinet/flute.

Heather and her husband, Bill, began their married adventure in August 1994. Bill is a scientist and analyst at Wright Patterson AFB. Their older daughter, Kyla, is a Wittenberg University grad (2019) who also works at WPAFB. Her sister, Kaitlyn, is currently a student at Wittenberg University (2023).
