Dear Members and Friends of Abiding Christ,

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for all the cards, prayers, and kind words that you have shared over the last few weeks upon the death of my Dad. Between my dad's death on June 19th (Father's Day) and his funeral on July 1st, I also had Covid and so I missed Pastor Craig's farewell Sunday. Fortunately, my symptoms were mild, I made a speedy recovery, and was able to preach and preside for Dad's funeral service. It seems that much was happening all at once, and your thoughtful expressions were appreciated, so again, thank you.

We are in the midst of Vacation Bible School week as I write this, and everyone - students and volunteers - are having an exciting week with worship, hearing the Bible stories, making crafts, learning about science, playing games, enjoying snacks, and celebrating being together. Thank you to everyone for making this ministry and outreach a success in our community.

Next week our church council will be meeting with Bishop Suzanne Dillahunt and Pastor Robert Abrams via a zoom meeting in order for the Bishop to outline and explain the process for our congregation to call another pastor. We will share information with you as each step is taken throughout this process.

I have been working on a schedule for an adult Sunday School class and will be sharing that schedule with you soon. Summer Sunday School continues through the month of August with the Lighthouse for all ages at 9:45am in Meister Hall. We hope to have a presentation from the Glen Helen Raptor Center on September 5th.

Rally Day will be September 11th which will include a time for students to transition to their next level age group. An adult class will be offered that day with several congregational leaders explaining our financial reports and our Team and Ministry Group structures. More details will be forthcoming.

We are in a time of transition; I'm grateful for our Staff, Teams, Ministry Groups, and so many other volunteers who are stepping forward to help where needed. Thank you to all who completed the Time and Talent Surveys (you can still complete them if you haven't already), and folks are at work disseminating your names to leaders who will be calling on you to help. We have so much to offer our community with the Gospel message and our outreach and service. Let us continue to do the work God has called us to do and be the people that God has called us to be.

With Grace and Peace,

Pastor June M. Fryman
