Accept Yourself

As a change of pace, I thought I would use some quotes from Native American tribes to center my message this week.

“Love yourself; get outside yourself and take action. Focus on the solution; be at peace.”

A Sioux (Lakota) quote from “The Soul Would Have No Rainbow if the Eyes Had No Tears”

Many problems with forgiveness centers within ourselves. God’s love for us is unconditional, but our love for ourselves often is less than that. We compare ourselves to others, we may be recipients of hurtful words thrown at us without regard, or we just do not value each other as God values us. We often do not feel peace or hear the voice of God because we are wound into the sin of berating ourselves or the outside world. If you are feeling fearful, anxious, upset, or lost, it may be because you are missing the inner peace that comes from getting outside of yourself and focus on the solution. Not a pie in the sky solution, but one that can bring you to peace and acceptance. Pray that you are able to accept yourself as God made you, warts and all, and then move on to make your corner of the world a little brighter by loving another.
