Needs vs Wants

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. — Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

 We spend a lot of time saying “if only I or we, or the world would…” fill in the blank. The quotes above counter those “if only” longings. We worry if our church will close, if we have enough food, money, status, etc. Remember, no one knows God’s plans or mind. “If only” are our issues, not God’s. How can we change “if only” to what ways has Christ has provided contentment in our lives? How might we look to what is provided than what is wanted? We are granted what God what sees we need, not necessarily what we desire or think we need. So don’t be fearful, or constantly in an “if only” way of life. It takes courage to do this, so I wish you courage in changing how you move in your life’s journey.
