Choice
Max Lucado writes in “Grace for the Moment”, the following:
He placed one scoop of clay upon another until a form lay lifeless on the ground. All were silent as the Creator reached into Himself and removed something yet unseen. It’s called the seed of choice. The seed of choice. Within the man, God had placed a divine seed of His Self. A divine seed of His Self. The God of might had created earth’s mightiest. The Creator had created, not a creature, but another creator. And the One who had chosen to love had created one who could love in return. Now it’s our choice.
To chose life is to love the Lord your God, obey Him, and stay close to him.
Deuteronomy 30:20.
God chose us to have the seed of choice. That is a heavy responsibility. Anyone in their right mind, if they wanted good choices and good creation-taking would never leave it in the hands of humanity! We screw things up and often think we have better solutions than the Creator, our God. We are faced with choices every day. What God desires of us is choices that reflect His love and His creation. The next time you have a choice, pause and check in with God. Is it a good choice, or are you in charge of the screw up?
Please join us for worship on Sundays at 10:45. Come as you are! You are welcome always. Our Lenten journey starts soon, on Ash Wednesday Feb 26 @12 noon and every noon hour in Lent. Soup and bread will follow worship and you can be back at work by 1PM starting the first Wed in March.
