LSIM service
Dear Members of St Mark’s,
This week’s service will be a combined LSIM video service and it will be emailed to you from LSIM. It will be available on St Marks facebook page on Monday. You will see all of the LSIM team participating in the worship which will be the only service for the 4 churches. We are postponing communion this week per request of Pastor Craig Fourman at ACLC. The pastors will revisit this on Tuesday next week at our regular bible study time. For this week, should you desire to receive communion, please contact me on my cell for an appointment. I will be happy to share communion with you at home or at the church. Your tithes and pledges may be mailed to 100 East Main St, Fairborn or you can give online via card or bank. This is a difficult time for all of us for a variety of reasons. Please know we are all praying for you and for the Restored Bible study Group, we are praying weekly for your stated “messes”.
As we face daily challenges both to our sense of well-being and to those who are suffering illness, I suggest this passage from Job for you and a prayer that may help in the days to come as we face the unknown.
And your life will be brighter than the noonday; its darkness will be like the morning. 18 And you will have confidence, because there is hope; you will be protected [a] and take your rest in safety. 19 You will lie down, and no one will make you afraid; many will entreat your favor.
Job 11:17-19 (NRSV) 17
Breath deeply and slowly, and silently say part of a line as you inhale and part as you exhale. As the prayer is repeated, painful areas in the body relax, and God’s peace is received into the deep levels of the mind.
The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. O Lord make haste to help me.
Jesus, Healer, make me whole. I’m afraid, Lord, I need you.
Please give me the strength I need. Whatever will heal me, please send it now. Holy Spirit, breathe in me.
Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
From “All Will Be Well, A Gathering of Healing Prayers.” Edited by Lyn Klug
May Christ comfort and restore you in this uncertain time. Blessings, Deacon Nancy Trimble
